How to Use a Firestick — Getting Started
Using a Firestick begins once you have plugged it into your TV's HDMI port, powered it up, connected to Wi-Fi, and completed the initial setup. From there, navigating the Fire TV interface is straightforward.
If you have not yet set up your Firestick, read our complete Firestick setup guide first.

- Settings: Wi-Fi, display, audio, device options, and more
How to Navigate Using the Remote
- Directional ring: Move up, down, left, right through menus
- Select (centre button): Confirm a selection
- Home button: Return to the Fire TV home screen at any time
- Back button: Go back one step
- Menu button (three lines): Open additional options for the current item

How to Install Apps on a Firestick
Navigate to the search bar on the home screen, search for the app name, select it from the results, and click 'Get' or 'Download'. The app will install automatically.
Alternatively, go to Your Apps & Channels → App Store to browse categories. For a full guide, see our article on how to install apps on a Firestick.
