By default, apps on the Firestick home screen are arranged in the order they were installed. Moving apps lets you put your most-used ones first for easier access.
How to Move Apps on Firestick
- Navigate to the app you want to move on the home screen or in the Apps section
- Press and hold the Select button (centre of the directional pad) until a menu appears
- Select Move from the options
- Use the directional pad to move the app to your preferred position
- Press Select again to drop the app into its new position
The Move option only appears for downloaded apps in the Apps section — not for apps pinned to the main home screen rows, which are populated automatically based on usage and Amazon suggestions.
Pinning Apps to the Home Screen
To add a specific app to the main home screen rows (rather than just the Apps section), navigate to the app in the Apps list, press and hold Select, and choose Move to Front. This brings the app to the beginning of the Apps row on the home screen.
Organisation Tips
- Put your most-used apps at the front of the Apps section
- Remove the apps you never use (uninstall them) to reduce clutter
- If you use IPTV regularly, put the IPTV player app first for easy access
For removing apps you no longer need, see our Firestick app uninstall guide. For a full overview of app management, see our Firestick apps guide.
If you have a FirestickHub IPTV package, we recommend placing the IPTV player at the front of your apps for the quickest access to your 25,000+ live channels.
